Activities

Cheers conducts numerous social events and programs throughout the year including:

WEEKLY SOCIAL
Every Thursday at the Bradford Room in the Oakwood clubhouse from 3:30 – 5:30 pm, there is a social gathering with a cash bar. This event is open to EVERYONE and provides a great opportunity for new members to get to know current members and be apprised of the various club events.

NEWSLETTER
A monthly member newsletter gives an overview of Cheers activities as well as other pertinent information. It is primarily distributed via e-mail, but hard copies are available for those members that do not have Internet access. Current and past issues are available in the members area of the Cheers website.

TRIPS AND ACTIVITIES
Numerous day trips, mini-vacations and longer international and domestic travel trips are offered throughout the year allowing members to travel with a group of friends and acquaintances to many interesting locations.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES
Once a quarter we all get to celebrate members’ birthdays. Dinner is served along with birthday cake. There is often a theme and entertainment for these celebrations which are held on Sundays in the Cottonwood Clubhouse.

CONCERTS & SPECIAL EVENTS
Cheers often reserves tables for special events and concerts held at the various clubhouses so singles can enjoy the events and share the experience with friends.

BOOK CLUB
For our readers we have a book club that meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 4:30pm in the Library at the Oakwood Clubhouse. All are welcome to attend.

WINE TASTING
Held the 2nd Wednesday of each month at a member’s home, wine tastings are one of the most popular Cheers activities. Participants are asked to bring a hearty appetizer or nosh to share. There is generally a limit of 20 – 25 members depending on the size of the host’s home.

DINING OUT
Usually held on the fourth Wednesday of the month, a restaurant is selected for those members who want to experience the delights of exploring new restaurants and cuisines. Sign-up is required so reservations can be made.
